Cower in Fear

Are you cowering yet? You should be for MGL won Scariest Pumpkin at her Girl Scout Council's Halloween Carnival.(please note: that orange chip came from the ride home) MGL says she won just because the judges thought her pumpkin deserved something since it was well done and nothing was scary so they just stuck her with that award. I myself have a very different theory as to why it was chosen scariest pumpkin- it is actually scary. Ever heard of Wow Wow Wubzy, that is some scary stuff. This pumpkin sure looks like one of those things. In any case I'm going to use it for a Halloween decoration, maybe I can scare off a few little kids and grown ones too. Oh yeah in case you forgot, don't turn on your porch light tomorrow night if you don't want sticky kids and even stickier dolls knocking on your door begging you for Hershey bars.If that doesn't entice fear I don't know what does. Happy cowering(or whatever it is your doing)!

A Trip through the Woods

MGL had the bright idea that Kit and I needed a little exercise. I don't really understand the point of a doll getting exercise as our stuffed bodies get no benefit from it. Kit and I reluctantly agreed to walk a trail through the woods that MGL's family recently built for some idiotic reason. So we set out walking...
And walking. There is a big field between the house and the trail so we spent ages out there in the dead grass. I'm not sure if you realize but dolls don't travel very fast so it was a very slow pass indeed.(a large turtle could have passed us by) Kit didn't complain very much though, which was a huge blessing. I think she was focusing everything on the act of walking.
After a long while we finally made it to the trail. I was actually trying to figure out what these woods were so important for at this point because the trees looked like any other trees to me.
Kit seemed pretty excited by the whole aspect though and liked to stop at random interval to get a closer look at things.
The woods were actually kind of  pretty once we got to a certain point. I can't say I see the point of walking as far as we did to see them though.

This little tree stump was kind of the focal point of our walk. Do you see how odd shaped it is?
Kit and I had sat down for a long debate about how that tree ended up looking like it did when we heard gun fire.
Kit and I booked it out of those woods and started back to the house as soon as we could stand up.
I learned some odd things while I walked out there as I had plenty of time to think with Kit being quiet and all.
1. Kit gets nice when she is in nature.
2. Long walks really shouldn't be down in cowboy boots.
3. Never go in the woods during hunting season as you may be shot at even though you look nothing like a whitetail deer.

State Fair Time

I just got back from the state fair in Little Rock! MGL had to show her pig there, but we also got to do a few actually fun things. (swine barns smell very bad, I would advise you to never set foot in one) I decided to start the post off with a picture of me in the car, it wasn't that long of a ride this time around so I didn't get too bored.
This picture is very blurry but it is very hard to take a picture in a moving car so this is the best I can offer you.
I didn't get any pictures taken of me at the fair as I was stowed in this bag most of the day. MGL did take me to the hall of industry though and we rode the Gravitron together. I'm kind of glad I got to ride around zipped up in a bag though because it was only about 20 degrees outside and very windy. That is one thing I hate about Arkansas, the weather is unpredictable.
I got quite a bit of stuff in the hall of industry, there were all kinds of booths there. One had anime things, another European sour candies, one that had a petition for medical marijuana, and lots of church ones to name a few. It was an odd mix of people for sure.
The favorite things I acquired while in Little Rock are this alarm clock and little cat figurine. I don't know if any of you humans realize it but it is hard to find working doll sized alarm clocks, but I finally found one. It started its life as a human key chain but after a slip off its chain, it quickly became my alarm clock. It doesn't hurt that the clock is in my favorite color either. I liked the little cats and I know they have a name but I can't think of it right now.(it really bugs me that I can't remember its name) Enough thinking about that cat for now, I'll just go ahead and end my post. I had an amazing time on my trip but I think the best part had to be that Kit didn't come, I need a break from that lunatic sometimes for there is only so much Kit one Leanne can handle. Goodbye for now, I'll be back very shortly.(or maybe not we'll see what kind of mood I'm in)

Sampling at a Mattress Store

I'm pretty sure all of you have been to furniture store, right? Well I never have but I'm not that bent out of shape about the whole thing for furniture stores seem kind of boring. A bunch of overpriced blocks of wood, come on. Yesterday MGL and her family went to a furniture store that had  been bought  out by a competitor. Did they invite me? No, but they didn't invite you either so we are even. They went to get MGL's sister a new mattress since they were on sell. While her sister was busy lying down on ever mattress in sight, MGL sat in every recliner in the store. When MGL got tired of sitting she went and looked at the fabric samples they had and an idea took root in her brain. She went and talked to one of the clerks to see if she could have some. The guy gave her a few and asked for her number in case she wanted more. What was the point of this ridiculously long story about a very simple story you may ask. The point was MGL got some perfect doll sized rugs for free. Now onto the onslaught of pictures.

All of the fabric is really excellent quality. I look really awkward in this photo don't I?(don't answer that)
This piece was my favorite so I put it down in Kit's and my space.
I couldn't get a closeup without that shadow for some reason, I'll live though.
Even though I got some free rugs out of this adventure, I still say furniture stores are boring.

Bat Borrowing

I finally got around to decorating for that old special day when ghosts and goblins do abound. MGL 'borrowed'(she didn't even ask, I consider that stealing) a few things from her older sister who collects bats so I could spruce up the ole' doll space. I only have a little bit right now in the space of dolls but I decided to share what I have done so far. Kit says that it is horrid and I need to get to decorating. I don't see her little 1930s doll butt helping me.
You can't see it but there are little bat sprinkles all over the table. I kind of went crazy with sticking stuff to the wall. If I am handed(this is a really odd word when one thinks about it) sticky stuff you can guarantee that it will be stuck to something in about 2.3 seconds.
I feel in love with this bat that MGL 'borrowed' from her sister. I am trying to devise a plan to kidnap this little stuffed piece of fluff and cute. That is about all I have to share for today; I'm terribly sorry for boring all of you readers to tears.  So without further ado I wish everyone a Happy Halloween.
I promised you I liked sticky stuff.

A Pumpkin Story

You are probably wondering why I'm standing in my yard with a radio flyer wagon, well the story is kind of boring but based on my other posts, you should be used to reading about my boring life. MGL bought me some pumpkins from that ol' fabled store Walmart, but she left them at the end of the driveway and told me to go get them. When I complained to her about it she said that work builds character.(What kind of character does she want to build? One out of pumpkins?) I still thought she could have brought them inside the house and saved everyone a whole lot of trouble. Anyway I walked the twenty miles to the driveway carrying that huge wagon.(okay, I admit that I exaggerated, it was only like twenty feet)
When I got there I found Kit sitting by the pumpkins. I still haven't figured out how she beat me out of the house this time. I think she just ran out so she wouldn't have to pull the wagon.
I set off right to work loading up the pumpkins.(it now occurs to me that in this picture the stem looks as though it were in my eye, it wasn't)
It dawned on me that I wasn't going to be able to fit them all in the wagon at once so I told Kit to get up and help. (notice her sitting in the background)

Kit told me she would help pull the pumpkins back into the house but things didn't quite go that way.
By the time I had turned around to grab the handle, Kit  was no where in sight. I hope I have developed a enough character for you MGL, I had to take a bunch of trips with a wagon because of your character building strategies.

All is Fair in Love and War

This week was District Fair week down here in Arkansas. MGL shows a pig, she only got 9th place on Ol' Samsonite this time, at county she got Reserve Grand Champion.(whatever that means) At least she is making some money at this fair business so she can get me more stuff. Right now Kit and I have been campaigning for a bed. You try sleeping standing up for over a year and see how you feel, yeah I thought so. Anyway MGL won some ribbons in the arts and craft part of  the fair too, which was just doll clothes and pictures she had taken of me. (ok well mostly) MGL didn't bring me to the fair with her this week but she has promised to take me when she goes to the Arkansas state fair later this month, I'm kind of excited. Anyway since some of you might be marginally curious as to what this fabled Samson looks like I'll show you a picture of me hanging out with him earlier this year. He looks mostly the same except for the fact that he has doubled in size.

You know, it occurs to me now that the reason behind Kit getting that pig was because she wanted to impress MGL. Kit does that sort of things sometimes.
